(no subject)

Just FYI. It's not often you get to dance in the parking lot of the
Brooklyn Museum or listen to DJ's spin Bhangra in the sculpture garden...

don't blame me if it sucks

Hey, don't know if any of the bands are good so don't blame me if it sucks.  Haven't been in a long while, but my friends and I used to check this out every so often. On Friday nights, they showcase a few bands and have an open bar from 9-10. Can't go wrong with that! No cover before 11 if you get on their list. It's at Crash Mansion, which is the lower level of BLVD on Bowery.

PS - I first saw the Bravery at one of these shows :)

Ben, Rufus, and Ben in Brooklyn

Ben Folds, Rufus Wainwright and Ben Lee are playing at Celebrate Brooklyn! in Prospect Park on Thursday, August 4, 2005, at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $35 from Ticketmaster, which will conveniently charge you an additional $8.75 per ticket for the joy of using their website to purchase the tickets. They are on sale now and probably won't last for very long, so if anyone is interested we should act now!

Wilkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome!

Hi everyone! This is the first post on our office blog - feel free to contribute. Just email your post to butterick.nyulaw@blogger.com.

I don't know if you've heard of 'My Favorite', but I caught a video for their song 'Burning Hearts' on New York Noise on Channel 25 a few months ago and found it sort of catchy. Anyhoo, they're playing at Rothko this Thursday (6/30) at 8pm, along with Mahogany, Favorite Sons and Andrew Kenny ($8a/$10d). Sadly I can't make it - I'll be in Seattle - but who knows, it might be good.

Also, if you're stuck in town for the 4th of July, check out Yo La Tengo, Stephen Malkmus (of Pavement fame) & The Jicks, and Laura Cantrell down at the Lawn of Battery Park. Starts at 3:30pm & it's free!

(PS - Can you name the musical in which the song referenced in the subject line appears??)

i dare you...

2 awesome shows

Hey,
i know of a great band that has two shows this week - my band!!

Murder Mystery @ Arlene's Grocery
9:30 Thursday, June 30
95 Stanton St.

Murder Mystery @ Mercury Lounge
10:30 Sunday, July 3rd
217 East Houston Street NYC

We play a mix between early 60's pop/rock and 90's indie rock. You can buy tickets at the door of both places before the shows. I really like this band cause the singer/guitarist is handsome.
