"Like some midnight meeting between Television and Buddy Holly, budding Greenwich Village trio Murder Mystery encapsulate several styles with sparkling wit and skittering, knee-shaking energy...more than New York's

'next big thing'."

Ken Micallef

Mojo, Guitar One, Downbeat

"Shuffling mod pop... swaggeringly confidant."

The Village Voice

"A celebrity sex tape of actor Steve Guttenberg was reportedly leaked in the late 1980s, but it did not achieve wide distribution or popularity."

Check out MM this week!

Hello world,

Murder Mystery has a great week ahead of us and we want nothing more than for you to share it with us. On Saturday, September 24, we rock the Pussycat Lounge (beneficially located above the stripclub of the same name and next to a bodega/brothel) with our amigos calientes, the rap pioneers Metermaids. Metermaids rocks in a way that NY rap hasn't since Biggie was around, plus, the cover will allow entry to both the venue and the sleaze factory, so come for some sweeeeet combinations you wont see anywhere else: great rock (us) with great hip hop (metermaids), good music (us and m'maids) with sagging breasts (strippers), exotic dancing (strippers) with erotic dancing (adam).

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 24.  Doors at 8, Us 8:30ish.

PUSSYCAT LOUNGE

96 Greenwich St. at Rector St., 2nd Floor

$10 admission

For those of you less inclined to travel into the financial district for (sleaze + music)/2, we offer another unbelievable option for you next Thursday! At Arlene's Grocery, MM will be headlining our own version of the Coachella Music Festival. For one low price you can see 3 great bands who all hate Jeremy.

The festivities start at 9pm with our pals, rockin' rockers the Algiers, a band on a mission to take over the world one friend of MM's at a time. Jeremy will sit in on a song or two so don't miss this set!  It will be legendary when both these bands die in a plane crash on the way to Fargo.

As if that wasn't enough on its own, at 10pm comes the vision that is A plus P, a band that features the Jimi Hendrix of the Upper West Side, Alan Wilkis, with the John Bonham of Someplace, Pete Something.  If you've never seen them before, see them now, they will be the delicious antipasti to MM's main entrĂ©e - but they're good enough to be a meal on their own.

Then comes us at 11. You know us. We are really great. Today we are even better than we were yesterday, which is kinda absurd considering how hot we were before. We have a new song or two, and our set will feature the lovely singing voice of Ms. Laura Coleman for the first time. How cool is dat? Be there.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 24.  Show at 9.

Hurricane Katrina Relief

It's been very quiet on the Hurricane Katrina front within the office, in contrast to what I'm hearing from my friends and family in their places of work. In particular, this alumna sent along her information and blog address asking for some specific help as she and her friend volunteer in the Houston Astrodome.

It worked so well with the coffee that I thought I would broach this subject here. Do you think our colleagues would be interested in either collecting $ or goods to send to this alumna or directly to an organization? I know that many are doing their part completely independent of work, but some are also looking for a way to help. This just might be it.

What do you think?

Ok this isn't for a while but I was so excited about it and just had to share:

Depeche Mode Announce North American Tour Plans

Caroline Bermudez reports:
Hey, Brandon, got your tickets yet? Yeah, we're looking at you, Mr. Flowers.
